Community Reinvestment Area

Community Reinvestment Areas are areas within the City of Defiance that were established with the intent to encourage investment in real property through remodeling or new construction. There are three specific areas within the City of Defiance that are included in a Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) Tax Abatement Program. Investment in these designated areas can be 100% tax exempt for terms of 7 to 15 years, depending on what type of building was constructed or remodeled. Residential and Commercial projects are both eligible for this program. Commercial projects must be pre-approved before project begins. See our Brochure.
