Crime Stoppers
Defiance/Paulding County Crime Stoppers Program started in 1993 and has been a very active program since it began. This program is known internationally and is operated by a civilian board of trustees with Law Enforcement acting in an advisory capacity. Ptl. Roy McDonald, Community Relations Officer, is a coordinator of the program representing the Defiance Police Department. E-mail Chief Walker. Crime Stoppers is an anonymous tip line which offers cash rewards up to $1,000 which leads to the arrest and/or indictment of criminals. The tipster calls in reporting a crime and receives a number that doesn't have to give his/her name. Once an arrest or indictment has been made, the tipster is then eligible for a cash reward which is voted on and approved by a civilian board. The Crime Stoppers Program has proved its effectiveness with more than 150 arrests since it inception and the recovery of more than $25,000 in property. The arrests and property recovery would not have been made without the help of Crime Stoppers. The Crime Stoppers Civilian Board meets on the first Tuesday of each month and any and all persons are welcome to attend and join the civilian board. To report a crime, call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 419-784-2255 or 1-866-804-7867. All Tips are Anonymous! Check out the Warrants Board Located Outside the Municipal Court. Receive a $50 Reward for Miscellaneous Warrant Information Leading to a Misdemeanor Arrest. Receive a $100 Reward for Miscellaneous Warrant Information Leading to a Felony Arrest. If one person has more than one warrant lead, we will pay for each one.
