reserves

The Defiance Police Department has a group of individuals who work toward making Defiance a better community. This group is the reserve officers of the Defiance Police Department. Some but not all have received the required training by the State of Ohio to be sworn police officers having full police powers. We encourage all our reserve officers to receive the training but it is not a requirement to join and belong to our reserve unit.

The reserves are authorized fifteen (15) members. These officers are often seen at local sporting events, parades and special activities. The reserves supplement the full time officers at fire scenes; major crime scenes during storms help in searching for the missing and patrol duties.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Defiance Police Reserves please contact Ass’t. Chief Tim Tobias at 419-784-5050 or any member of the Defiance Police Department or Reserve Unit.
