Compost SiteHours of Operation: The site will be closed on Monday, May 26 (Memorial Day), Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5 (Independence Day), and Monday September 1 (Labor Day). The City of Defiance offers a location for citizens to dispose of yard waste such as leaves, grass clippings, garden vines, stalks, tree limbs, and shrubbery. This site, located on the east side of the City at 26273 St Rt 281 East. Periodically, the City hires a private contractor to grind the brush pile into mulch. The finished product is available to all citizens at no charge. The disposing of tree stumps, construction materials, automotive parts and garbage is strictly prohibited.
